LAGOS APC GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY: HAMZAT STEPS DOWN FOR SANWO-OLU

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, Dr. Femi Hamzat, has withdrawn from the race.

Hamzat, who spoke during a press conference in Lagos on Saturday, said he took the decision to support the ambition of another aspirant, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

According to him “I can vouch for Sanwo-Olu’s integrity and personal intelligence.”
He also directed his supporters to cast their votes for Sanwo-Olu during the party’s primary tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the incumbent governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode has congratulated the Osun State governor-elect, Gboyega Oyetola saying the people of Osun has chosen continuity over uncertainty.

He also commended the people of Osun State for comporting themselves during the exercise, noting that despite the inconclusive election on September 22, voters defied the heavy downpour to come out en masse to exercise their franchise during the supplementary election.
